Seeking Bassist + Synth Player for Art-Punk / New-Wave Band

Boise-based original band seeking two humans:
• One bassist
• One synth player
Gold star if you can bring a second instrument into the mix (guitar, percussion, weird electronics... we're open).
We're a metamodern, art-punk/new-wave project blending jittery guitars, synth grit, and restless energy. The songs range from fast, distorted, and danceable to weird, tender, and cinematic - but they all slap.
We've been building this project for a while - and now we're ready to level up the live band. Our 10-song album drops early next year, and we'll start the live set with those tracks. From there, future songs will be created collaboratively - we're building a world, not just a setlist.
Who we are:
Two musicians in our 30s/40s with legit creative buy-in and a fully developed aesthetic: glitch Americana, post-punk tension, long-haul surrealism, and a DIY ethos that actually means DIY (zines, visual identity, handmade weirdness, etc.).
We don't care about your age - we care about your commitment to the vision. We like digital weirdness, analog imperfections, and people who aren't afraid to get a little strange. We take the music seriously but not ourselves.
Looking for people who:
• Love original music
• Play bass or synth confidently (or both, if you're wild)
• Are excited about metamodern, irony/sincerity hybrid art
• Can rehearse weekly (Hill Rd / North End)
• Enjoy contributing ideas and aren't precious about experimentation - we write together, we mess around, we try things, we break them
• Bonus: can sing harmonies / carry a melody
• Extra bonus: femme-aligned / woman musician - we're aiming for balance, not a wall of dude energy
Aesthetic influences: DEVO, Talking Heads, Kraftwerk, LCD Soundsystem, Wet Leg, Mitski, The Cars.
Energy influences: early post-punk, 2000s indie chaos, dancefloor anxiety, distorted joy, modern synth-punk.
Think: angular guitars + driving bass + synths that wobble between beautiful and broken.
Project DNA:
We've got the vision dialed in: glitch, collage, industrial Americana, and a touch of lore for anyone who likes their bands with world-building.
We'll be aggressive with promotion:
• video content
• stylized shoots
• intentional branding
• leaning into the conceptual universe
• pushing social media with DIY charm and actual weirdness
All the tactics that get a band seen in 2025 without selling your soul to an algorithm (we only lease ours).
Logistics:
Rehearsals in the North End / Hill Rd area.
Shows once the lineup is locked in.
Absolutely no interest in ego battles, cover-band energy, or dad-rock inertia.
You don't have to be a virtuoso - groove, taste, and presence matter more.
If this sounds like your kind of beautifully-broken ecosystem, send:
• links, clips, or a quick voice memo of you playing something
• what you play
• what excites you creatively
• what you're hoping for in a band
