For sale is my 1992 Les Paul Classic electric guitar.
These are known widely as one of the good years of 1960 reissues, between the years of 1989 - 1992. There are plenty of articles on the MyLesPaul forum that provides a lot of details.
The body and neck were refinished by the previous owner from translucent red. I bought the guitar in 2015 and so all other upgrades / changes listed below are parts swaps that I made.
There is not much stock (electrically, jack plate) on this guitar, but rather some nice improvements, such as period-correct Gavitt braided wire to the pickups and switch, and a jack plate (the old one cracked beyond repair). It is set up with '50's wiring and 500k pots.
The pickups were hand-wound by Rumpelstiltskin pickups, and I believe I swapped in A4 AlNiCo magnets in them. The upgrades were performed years ago, so I am not positive which grade I settled with. They sound great!
From the previous owner, a response to an inquiry with Gibson:
"Thank you for contacting Gibson. We can not 100% authenticate an instrument without pictures, but the serial number 2 5408 was used on a 1992 Les Paul Classic model which had a trans red finish. The top was an "AA" figured maple carved top."
