Up for sale, a 1979 Fender Stratocaster in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original molded hardshell case, hangtag, and case candy. This is a quintessential example of a late CBS-era Strat, featuring a deep U-shaped neck profile carve and a Sunburst finish on the ash body, accented by black plastics.
The ash body and one-piece maple neck pair for a very punchy acoustic response with great midrange kick and bark, qualities faithfully captured by the trio of gray bobbin single coil pickups. Featuring flush-mount alnico pole pieces, these pickups yield shimmering, bold tones at every position on the five-way pickup selector, with gutsy twang at the bridge, smooth cut at the neck, and hollow quack at the “in-between” positions. This Stratocaster weighs 8lbs 11oz and has been professionally setup with 9-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
