We are seeking an experienced CMM Programmer / Inspector with strong PC-DMIS expertise to support precision aerospace and defense manufacturing. This role is responsible for developing, validating, and running PC-DMIS inspection programs to ensure machined components meet stringent aerospace and defense quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Program, debug, and run CMM inspection programs using PC-DMIS
Create inspection programs from CAD models, engineering drawings, and GD&T
Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) in accordance with AS9102
Conduct in-process and final inspections of tight-tolerance machined components
Interpret complex GD&T
Verify part conformity to customer, contractual, and regulatory requirements
Generate and maintain inspection reports and quality documentation
Support investigation and resolution of nonconforming material
Calibrate and verify inspection tools and CMM equipment
Collaborate with machinists, engineers, and quality personnel to improve processes
Ensure compliance with AS9100 and customer quality system requirements
Required Qualifications
3+ years of experience programming and inspecting with PC-DMIS in an aerospace or defense environment
Strong working knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
Experience inspecting complex, high-precision machined parts
Proficiency with CAD-based inspection and offline programming
Experience creating First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs)
Familiarity with AS9100 quality systems and documentation requirements
High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with 5-axis machined components
Knowledge of SPC, MSA, and measurement uncertainty
Experience with optical or portable CMM systems
Ability to optimize PC-DMIS programs for efficiency and repeatability
Prior experience in defense or ITAR-controlled environments

Visual acuity sufficient for precision inspection work
