I am passionate about food and health. I am a full-time Emergency Medicine Physician, a witness to how lifestyle choices translate into a multitude of chronic diseases. While traditional Western medical practice can be lifesaving, it is often deficient in identifying the upstream causes of disease, with nutrition leading the pack. I pursued a Fellowship in Integrative Medicine (completed 2014-2016 AZCIM with Board Certification in 2017) to better understand this connection. My passion for cooking started in my early 20s and I received formal training, 150 hours of coursework in French Technique and Baking at the French Culinary Institute (now the International Culinary Institute) in NYC in 1994 and 2001. I continue to attend Nutrition Conferences through AZCIM. I most recently attended the Healthy Kitchens and Health Lives conference in Napa, CA. My goal is to share my passion and knowledge of cooking and nutrition in a teaching kitchen, where participants will come away with tangible ways to transform the way they shop for, prepare and eat food.
