Posting for my daughter. She originally purchased him thinking he may be a potential rodeo prospect, but after driving a long way to get him, she realized he was gaited — something that unfortunately was never disclosed to her beforehand. She’s still young and learning and simply didn’t know all the right questions to ask at the time. Since bringing him home, she’s realized he’s built and minded much more for trail and pleasure riding than rodeo.
He is gaited and has a very smooth ride, but he does have a much different feel than a typical quarter horse. He has more forward movement and “motor,” so he does best with a rider who understands how to collect and ride a gaited horse properly.
To be very clear — he IS safe. He’s not hot, spooky, mean, or dangerous. He simply moves out quicker than your average laid-back quarter horse. Because of that, he would be best suited for a knowledgeable child or adult rider rather than a beginner who is still learning basic control and balance. A kid that already knows how to ride and collect a horse would do just fine on him.
Out on the trail he rides great loose rein and keeps a nice steady pace. He also neck reins well.
That being said — this boy is as kind as they come. He’s super gentle, sweet, and loves being around people. He’s the type that will happily be “in your pocket” without becoming pushy or sour.
He stands around 15 hands and is respectful under saddle and on the ground. He’s been a very enjoyable horse to have around.
He’s been used for:
✔️ Trail riding
✔️ Obstacle work
✔️ Pleasure riding
Nothing really bothers him — no buck, rear, kick, or bite. He’s well-mannered, aware of his surroundings, and easy to handle. Good with all four feet and stands well.
He’s not buddy sour and rides out alone just fine. He can have a little personality at times, but overall has been a solid, reliable horse.
He’s also great to haul — loads easily, unloads backing out with no issues, and will stand quietly in the trailer all day. Hauls well with other horses and stays calm.
Vet Estimated to be between 13–15 years old.
