Antique Jacob & Josef Kohn (J & J Kohn) Vienna Austria Bentwood Chair. Likely chair 18 from late 1800's to early 1900's. The seat is a pressed design I'm describing as a shell or fan. It is in poor condition - not quite salvage, The repairs were made poorly with exposed screws. It is a bit wobbly as well. There are a couple of cracks and some noticeable damage to one leg, - pictures show the condition but please ask questions if I didn't cover it all. Label with the motto "Semper Sursum" or "Always Onward" or "One Step Ahead". Another label with the word Austria (Wien has been torn off), and yet another label mentioning Canadian and Toronto so I assume this was made in the Toronto plant
I feel like this should be restored - it has so much potential and should do more than be a place to set my handbag!
My home is smoke and pet free, I find this to be odor free.
