I had a client who's uncle owned the Centro Downtown and Ipanema Stores. The store I purchased this at was Ipanema store which was located at Rua Visconde de Piraja, 540 Suite 210. SORRY my photos do NOT do this gem any justice. So needs to be seen in person and noted for accuracy there are NO damages and lines in the picture are veins that show up more visible in the photos. Also last photo shows small felt tabs that have been on it for past 40 years. I paid over $1,000 plus shipping and export tax was over $500+. Anyhow.. also included is a book form sample from Real Gems showing 20 different quartz and semi precious stones with samples, etc. See pictures. There are many different types of quartz crystals such as the rose quartz, amethyst, rock crystal, citrines, etc. but smokey quartz takes the healing properties of the quartz crystal family and amplifies them tenfold with its own unique qualities.
This is a beautiful piece of quartz. Approximate measurements are 15" long, 7.5" wide, and approx. 2.25" thickest to 2" and weighs 15 pounds. It has nice mica formations on the right side edge and this piece of quartz is polished down and on the top it has a shallow well about 6" long by 3.25" wide and can be used as a mortar and pestal, ashtray, display, etc. I actually had a metal frame made to hold this in but it was lost by my movers several years ago and never found. You can display it laying flat or on it's side end as in picture. The bottom portion is cuts smooth and not polished and has felt tabs that are removeable. I just had them on there to protect the glass table I had it displayed on.
