This vintage 1991 figurine is a great addition to Western-themed collections. Measuring 11x8x6 inches, it features an iconic depiction of a lone cowboy in long overcoat & cowboy hat, arms crossed & holding a pistol, standing on a pinewood oval base. The figure has been purported to be a depiction of Butch Cassidy, but this is not verifiable here.
The cowboy is made of glazed ceramic & in very good condition. A marker on the bottom reads "Walnut Hollow Dodgeville WI." He has only had one & the same owner & has always been well store in shelf display since it was collected brand new circa early 1990s.
An inscription on the lower back of the pottery base (the cowboy's ground, not the wooden oval) is visible in photos but difficult to read. However, clearly visible is the engraved "91" likely noting the year of its' creation. The intricate details and handmade technique make it a unique piece for collectors of Western Americana art & decor.
