I’m selling my half-done N gauge RR model: 4 locomotives, 25 RR cars, buildings, tracks, misc. scenery all on a 4 x 6 ft tabletop. Someone else must expand the model now.
Whether you’re a fan of the railroads that made our country great or the intricate procedures that make them run on time or just enjoy the relaxation of making 1:160th scale models, this is the base to expand and develop those interests. And now Etsy has many beautiful inexpensive 3-D printer building and scenery models for detailing that greatly enhance any scenic model. Best, this 1:160th scale model still fits in your den or garage until your interests lose control of it.
Locomotives:
•powered & dummy AT&SF RR F-M C line by Atlas,
•North West RR GP-9 diesel by Atlas,
•AT&SF 0-6-0 steam yard engine by Life-Like and
•1860s wood stack 4-4-0 steam engine labelled Jupiter by Bachmann.
The latter has 5 matching old style cars:
•By Bachmann - flat car, passenger car and caboose
•By Arnold Rapido - baggage/mail car and passenger car.
For modern trains I have 20 freight and bulk cars of all types mostly by Atlas and Bachman.
•By Atlas - 2 caboose, a 70 T ore car, 2 boxcars, wood boxcar, 3 gondola, 2 stock, open hopper, and oil tanker.
•By Bachmann - long flat car carrying steel coils.
•By Lifelike - chem. tank car, gas tanker and open hopper.
•By ConCor - long gondola car.
•By Kaydee - open boxcar.
•By AHM - wreck repair crane car.
Model’s rails are over 40 ft. of fixed track on the 4 x 6 ft. table top of painted pressed board. The track is divided by 14 wired switches supporting a main route, 2 sets of parallel tracks and 7 sidings. A spare switch is included and unused track: 7 pcs. 5 in. straight track, 11 pcs. 5 in. curved and 13 pcs. 6 in. curved track, totaling another 7 feet. The electrical wiring is now disconnected and the old power control units are doubtful.
The model’s buildings need more detail
painting and include a town passenger/ freight depot, small depot, suburban stop shelter, 2 RR water tanks, hotel, farm house, 4 3 story apartment houses, small steepled chapel, engine repair barn, coal house, sm. truss RR bridge, stone processing plant, small factory, water mill, and a German style farmhouse and 2 houses. Included are human figures, 10-12 cars, bus & trucks, large crane, earth moving equipment, power poles, trees, shrubbery. I’ll add two favorite books on the history of railroading too.
