I bought a 250W electric front hub for a bicycle last year. It was $300 new. It is optimized for higher torque at 14mph instead of lower torque at 30mph, so it can punch through head winds better and not drain the battery as fast for the same watts.
I bought this because I wanted to ride from Boise State University to an internship in Meridian, but I have tendon issue near my left knee. I never set it up, and also never got the internship. So, I just kept the box in my closet.
All parts are in the original box, never used. Examine the tire if you don't believe me. I only opened the box to see what was included. It has every accessory you need to mount and control everything. All that is not included are the batteries and the charger for the batteries. It has a bag and mount for the batteries. You can get lead acid go cart batteries for $80.
It is like new, though I was not able to fit on of the Styrofoam corners back into the box.
It is 26", and the front hub is quick release. I'll give more details if you are interested.
