For a book of its' age it is in excellent condition. The jacket cover shows a bit of its' age & there is a bit of very light staining on the inside front cover & on the top end of the closed pages as shown in photos. This appears to be a vestige of an ancient liquid splash of some unknown type which caused some minor splatter. It is very light surface wear & does not impede into the pages or the quality of this unique book.
The hardcover itself & the pages inside are in excellent condition, almost like new with little-to-NO signs of wear & no signs of the staining splash. It seems the dust jacket has done its' job well lo these many years.
This edition is a 1986 release of the famous book originally published in1968. It makes a great Christmas gift idea for the car history buff on your list.
