This would be a great race bike for a someone new to racing. Recently upgraded to SRAM 1x12 drive train, RockShox fork had a 200 hr rebuild kit overhaul, the wheels were trued and new Specialized Renegade ultra light tire were installed. Cockpit and seat post are Easton Carbon fiber. All in with pedals in weighs 24lbs and a few ounces.

2012 Scott Scale 29 has a "celebrated geometry" designed for aggressive cross-country racing. This geometry emphasizes a forward-biased riding position for maximum power delivery and climbing efficiency.
