Too many bikes in the garage, so it’s gotta go. Late 90s RT1000 tandem, frame and paint in very good condition. Tires are decent (50-75%), has rear rack for panniers, adjustable stoker bars with rear view mirror, 3x8 gearing, Sugino cranks, Shimano Deore LX brakes and Deore XT rear derailleur. Recent upgrades: Surly Moloko handlebar up front for multiple hand positions, Ergon grips, Shimano Claris brake levers, indexed friction shifters (super-dependable and trouble-free), Velocity DYAD rims on White Industries hubs built by tandemseast.com specifically for this bike. I am 5’10” and my wife is 5’5” and it is a very good fit for us. I’m a volunteer mechanic at the Boise Bicycle Project, so it has been very well maintained.
