While this seat was part of Boise Baby Gear’s rotating rental inventory, it was used very infrequently. During the pandemic, business slowed dramatically for several years, and the seat spent that time stored in a closed, climate-controlled, smoke-free, pet-free upstairs bedroom.
In total, a child has sat in this seat probably no more than 90 times. As far as we know, it has never been involved in an accident or even a minor fender-bender.
Also, Boise Baby Gear thoroughly cleans and inspects all car seats after each rental, and this one remains in remarkable condition—both cosmetically and structurally. Feel free to give it the “nasal appraisal!”

The only cosmetic defect that we noticed is a small nick to the fabric on the seat, in an area that would be right under the occupant’s left thigh. We mention this not because it’s any sort of actual problem, but because if you end up seeing this car seat in person we want you to think, “Wow, that Craigslist ad was a very accurate description!” Also, I can practically guarantee you that that this car seat is way cleaner and in way better condition than most of the car seats in actual use in our community. Take a look at the pictures and see for yourself.
This car seat still has plenty of safe, usable life remaining and represents an excellent value. Even if you use it for only five days, it’s cheaper than renting a car seat from us or from a rental car company.
