Made by General Household Utilities Co., Chicago
Beautiful Art Deco era console radio with the original “Beacon Eye” tuning indicator.
This radio has been in my office for the past several years as a display piece. It has not been restored or modified. When plugged in it powers on and produces sound/crackle, but I have not attempted any servicing and it is being sold as-is.
Details:
• Multi-band “All Wave” receiver
• Broadcast, Police-Amateur, and Foreign bands
• Original tube layout diagram still on chassis
• Original tubes appear present
• Original dial and knobs intact
• Cabinet is solid with normal finish wear for age
• Original grill cloth present
• Beacon Eye tuning indicator
Includes original paperwork and documentation:
• Original installation and operation manual
• Period Oakley Automotive service receipts from Boise dated 1937–1939
• Dial belt packaging and service paperwork
The paperwork adds great provenance and display value.
This is an excellent candidate for restoration or for someone who appreciates original, untouched vintage radios.
