Overlooking the 1st fairway & 1st hole at Terrace Lakes Resort, this beautiful cabin has two decks with fantastic daytime/twilight views of the surrounding mountains. Comfortably sleeping 10, each of its three levels has its own bathroom. The main floor has a bedroom with a queen bed. This floor also has the kitchen, dining area, sitting area, gas log fireplace and a huge wraparound deck with outdoor gas grill and covered sitting area. The upper level loft area has a queen and a full-size futon. The lower level has a bedroom with a queen, an entertainment center, wood fireplace, wet bar, a wonderful living area, game table, washer/dryer and the other spacious deck. Just a short walk takes you to the resort swimming pool, restaurant, or a round of golf. In the wintertime, it's only a few steps to the Terrace Lakes snow sliding hill!

All you need to bring for your vacation with us in Sun Valley is a change of clothes and to go grocery shopping when you get here. Please bring a hair dryer as most of our condos do not have them. The family room contains a couch, loveseat, two chairs and a recliner along with a kitchen table in the dining room. It has a fireplace w/insert and plenty of wood. Also available is a bbq and a outside firepit.
The kitchen is stocked with all necessary utensils, coffee maker, microwave, toaster, the works. Also, stocked is paper plates.

There is a TV w/vcr and a bunch of tapes -- but hopefully you'll be too busy having fun than watching tv.

I wish I could do a better job of describing it to you, or I wish that I had taken a picture so you could see what I was talking about, but instead we sat there as a family and just soaked it up with the appreciation for nature and how beautiful it is where we live. April snow showers bring May flowers??
We can hope that the "flower Gods" will consider any type of moisture when it brings on the May flowers! What a surprise this morning when we woke up to about an inch of snow with the green grass poking through! But, the skies are mostly clear, so the snow won't last long, just a brief reminder that Spring in Wallowa County is unpredictable!
Even with the snow flakes falling around us, we are still busy preparing for Spring and the upcoming Summer months. We have been spending time making sure that the homes have everything that you will need for your stay, as well as making sure the yards are in tip top shape. Some yards are receiving new wildflower seeds, while others are getting the bushes trimmed back and their first mowing of the season.

Snowmobiling at Buckhorn Lookout and other rambling thoughts.......
We went snowmobiling this weekend out towards Buckhorn Lookout. It was perfectly clear, almost too warm, and the views were nothing short of incredible.
As a child, I don't remember ever going to Buckhorn Lookout but know that we have camped in the campground. My parents were with us snowmobiling, and my Dad is sure that I have been there. But, I can't remember it for certain. I know it will stick in my mind now though. Looking down from Buckhorn onto the town of Imnaha, and out to the Seven Devils, and left further down to Cow Creek, the landscape was so vast and awe inspiring. It was a very good day and one that we definitely enjoyed as a family. I have plans to go back in the spring and take some pictures when I have my camera with me.
One of my favorite summers growing up was the summer that my parents worked for the Forest Service doing "super trees". This meant that a specific tree that the FS found that was a super good tree would be marked on a FS map and we would clean around the tree 15 feet of all other trees, clean up the ground around it, etc. I think this would allow them to grow up without any interference, but this could also be a child's recollection and not all that accurate.
This isn't what sticks out in my mind as being the best part of the summer, though. What I remember is the time spent with my family camping, living in a camp trailer, teaching my bassett hound Dottie to climb a step stool to get into the back of the truck so I could quit lifting the chubby pal, and just getting to be a kid in the big backyard of a forest.
I was lucky enough that my parents let me take a friend most of the time. Janet and I put on hundreds of miles on our Honda Trail 90's. We would often ride from one super tree to the next, and while Mom and Dad were working, we would wear out the road riding up and down it. We only had a few minor wrecks that summer, and considering how many miles we rode, that is pretty darn good!
Now that I am a parent, we try and enjoy the woods as much as we can with our kids. We want them to have the memories of these trips. My husband grew up here too and one of his favorite memories is when his Dad's company went on strike and they spent the summer enjoying the woods. I think they spent the better part of a summer out there until the company and unions got their act together.
On the ride back on the snowmobile, I was thinking of the several trips planned this summer to go camping and enjoy the woods with our kids. I hope to spend time out at a pond that my family enjoyed and watch our kids enjoy it too. Seems pretty far off with the snow we are getting today, but I know it will be here before we know it!

Loved our stay at cabin #46. What a beautiful cozy well kept cabin. My family and I had so much fun here playing game, doing crafts, and relaxing. We were able to see the gondola running up and down the mountain side, while taking in the views of the river right outside our kitchen window. Mornings were spent drinking coffee on the huge back deck with the visiting deer from time to time. We've stay in many cabins here at Wallowa Lake but none compare to this treasure. We just pack our clothes and food, cuz this cabin is very well stocked. We loved the washer dryer, and dish washer, all the comfort of home. There are so many activities to do, fishing, biking, hiking, miniature golf, and shopping. Don't miss a trip up the gondola the food up on top is great and the view is even better. April snow showers bring May flowers??
We can hope that the "flower Gods" will consider any type of moisture when it brings on the May flowers! What a surprise this morning when we woke up to about an inch of snow with the green grass poking through! But, the skies are mostly clear, so the snow won't last long, just a brief reminder that Spring in Wallowa County is unpredictable!
Even with the snow flakes falling around us, we are still busy preparing for Spring and the upcoming Summer months. We have been spending time making sure that the homes have everything that you will need for your stay, as well as making sure the yards are in tip top shape. Some yards are receiving new wildflower seeds, while others are getting the bushes trimmed back and their first mowing of the season.

The farmhouse sits on five beautiful acres, and has a large deck overlooking the view. Eagles, deer, birds of all kinds, and other wildlife abound.
