Position Description:
This position includes overseeing the day-to-day functions of the retail portion of the ReStore, including opening and/or closing the store. The focus of this position is customer service and sales. Tthe retail clerk serves as the cashier for sales transactions as well as offers assistance to the customers on the sales floor. Cashier duties also include balancing cash drawer at the end of the day, making nightly deposits, and preparing necessary reports related to store sales. In addition, this position coordinates the retail/customer service volunteers� schedules and orientation training. These volunteers will then assist the Retail Clerk. Finally, this position includes pricing the donations and stocking the shelves.

Job Responsibilities:
Greets customers by phone or in person.
Operates the cash register, and computer as needed.
Balances the day�s business transactions and completes required reports to management.
Understands the layout of the ReStore and the range of inventory on hand.
Escorts customers to specific items when appropriate and explains the purchase options.
Answers ReStore telephone.
When necessary, coordinates donor calls and donors� personal requests for donation pick up.
Maintains a clean sales/showroom area, including the organization of cashier area.
Exhibits positive working attitude by demonstrating respect for fellow workers, donors and customers.
Works cooperatively with the ReStore Warehouse Clerk.

Qualifications and Experience:
Position requires a high school degree or equivalent with some higher education being desirable.
Prior retail experience, and familiarity with computer technology related to Point of Sale (POS) retail systems is required.
Must demonstrate a reasonable familiarity with building materials.
Must exhibit strong organizational skills, accuracy and good record keeping skills when dealing with financial transactions.
Must be a self starter and have the ability to respond to high standards of customer service and satisfaction.
Must have ability to handle customer and volunteer situations with grace and composure.
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds, squat, bend and stand for extended periods.
